Is Orthodontic Treatment Right For Me At My Age?

You should consider orthodontics if you have crowded or spaced teeth. These are conditions that are often easily and efficiently addressed with treatment. Crowded teeth are difficult to keep clean, and this can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, bone loss, and recession. If your teeth don’t fit together properly, you may be experiencing abnormal wear on your teeth, or even jaw joint problems. Any concern that you feel is not giving you your best smile is a reason to see Dr. Coulter. You deserve to feel confident each and every day, in all that you do, and a beautiful, healthy smile is one sure way to help you feel your best.

What are my options?

Orthodontics for adults has never been better. With today’s technology treatment is more efficient and comfortable than ever before. Our treatment plans are customized for each patient, and our caring team is sensitive to the needs of our adult patients. Though we offer the traditional silver braces, you may prefer a less noticeable esthetic option. We are here to discuss the best option for you. You may even be a candidate for Invisalign! With Invisalign, even your closest family and friends may never know you are in treatment.

How long can I expect?

Though treatment times vary, the average is about 24 months. This may be different from what you experienced when your child had braces last year. There are a few reasons for this. As an adult your jaws are no longer growing, and there may other factors to considerer such as bone loss and recession. Though rare, sometimes we may need to discuss additional procedures like orthognathic surgery to correctly align your jaw. You may be missing teeth, and we must consult with additional specialists to determine the best course of care. Rest assured that Dr. Coulter and our team are here to provide you with the very best result and experience with respect, care, and understanding.
